Pilar Linares has been named Advertising Director of the Daily Herald in Everett, Wash. Pilar will be joining Sound Publishing on Monday, September 9th, 2013.
Pilar “Pili” Linares was the Advertising Manager for the Beaumont Enterprise in Beaumont, Texas. With more than 19 years of newspaper industry experience, Linares returned to Hearst newspapers joining the Beaumont Enterprise in 2010. Prior to joining the Beaumont Enterprise, Pili served as a Director of Marketing and Advertising for the Newspaper Association of America (NAA) for 6 years.While at the NAA Pili was responsible for overseeing the following: recruitment advertising, real estate advertising, database/direct marketing, and preprint advertising categories. Prior to joining the NAA, she worked for Hearst Newspapers at the Houston Chronicle for 13 years.
While at The Houston Chronicle, Pili served in a variety of roles including: Database and E-Mail Marketing Manager, Recruitment Advertising Sales Manager and Retail Account Executive. In 2001, Linares was recognized as a Presstime magazine “20 under 40” recipient. Before beginning her newspaper career, she worked at the recruitment advertising agency, Bernard Hodes Advertising. Pili Linares earned a B.S. in Advertising from the University of Texas at Austin and also attended The University of Salamanca, Spain.
